Hey there from Berlin again,

my request on Shapeshifters, looking for people and places to join BCN was quite useful and successful (Setting up a BCN-port in your city. – requested on 10 aug 2007, 13:43). Only two months later we could announce the opening of the second plug & play office – this time in the Mojave-desert! (Mojave meets Berlin – news provided on 12 oct 2007, 11:31)

Now we are looking for the next location – better for the next person who is interested to join the BCN-network and setting up the next global plug&play office in her/his city. Again Cities as well as Drop-out zones are very interesting for us!

This time our focus is on the southern hemisphere. Australia and New Zealand, Africa and of cause South and Latin America. But if you are from somewhere else and interested, please don’t hesitate – our current aim is to set up at least one plug&play office for global nomads on each continent within the next year – let’s see if we’ll make it that fast ;)

Everything in detail on my first posting or on our website http://www.TheBusinessClass.Net under IDEA and FAIRCHISE.

I am thankful for every feedback, ideas, connections & contacts, links ...
Cheers Manu

One more thing: Many of our Members asking when we’ll open the next office in London. We don’t have any direct (better say helpful) contact to people in London who might be interested joining our office-network.

I first encountered these podcasts earlier this year whilst looking for a topic for my dissertation. I found them incredibly interesting and I think people managing teams or starting up their own companies will find them particulalry useful.

Lynda Grattons podcast is about "Hotspots" or "Hotstreaks." She uses real world examples to focus on how companies can create teams that buzz with energy and innovation through a cooperative mindset, working across boundaries and points of ignition.

Martin Lindstrom's podcast on "Sensory Branding" explores how some brands use
our full range of senses to promote products. His examples focus on big multinational brands, but i think a lot of his points are relevant to people who want to create their own companies and product. If anything it will at least make you think about their overall presentation and your company's touch points.

Hope some of you find this useful
Hey there from Berlin,

a few months ago – first of may / Labor Day – I opened the BCN-network. I didn’t had the chance to post it on Shapeshifters myself because PeterPanic was faster than me :)

http://www.shapeshifters.net/PeterPanic/stories/972/

Now we are looking for people to join our network by setting up new BCN-ports in their cities. I was wondering if you could help me to find such a person / location in your town. You will find everything in detail on the web page under IDEA and FAIRCHISE.

By creating the idea of FAIRCHISE vs. FRANCHISE we do not focus on connecting only the major capital cities of the „modern world“, but also on cities and regions that are not so wealthy -yet! The BCN-network only makes sense as an area-wide network including all different types of cities and regions.

Since last week THE BUSINESS CLASS. NET is pleased to welcome all members including spanish and italian languages! Furthermore we translate all news on the web page free of charges. From now on Your News will be posted in Italian, Spanish, English and German! (Spanish version of the FAIRCHISE text is still missing, it will be online in about two weeks)

http://www.thebusinessclass.net

I am happy for every feedback, ideas, connections...
and please share this idea with everyone you know.

It’s your business, anywhere.
Cheers Manu

Hi there, I am looking to bring a speaker out to South Africa. Pref someone who is quite known for their work, who have written a book that can be promoted and has a lot to offer. We were thinking someone in Business but we need something / someone different - something with a breath of fresh air - IE no "Deepaks". Either a dynamic futurist or a business man/woman come mystic....Someone, if promoted would get a phenomenal reaction...

I would love to hear everyone's ideas. One person we have thought of was Guy Kawasaki...Any ideas guys and girls?

ScribeMedia.Org travels the US to capture and deliver speeches, lectures, roundtables and interviews of thoughtleaders across a broad range of subject areas that includes current events, technology, media, business and the arts. ScribeMedia provides a neutral forum for intelligent dialog and debate, uncluttered by soundbytes, instant punditry and shoutfests. The latest headline story is about Shapeshifters - and how social media goes niche.

The interview was recorded in Manhattan early April 2007 while the Shapeshifters World Seeding Tour had a stoppover in New York City. The video gives you a comprehensive 10 minute insight into previous world tour destinations and provides the big picture on what is going on behind the scenes of the website. For the first time ever.

Thank you Damon Berry in Johannesburg for providing and editing the video footage. Thank you Sasha and Michael from ScribeMedia for putting so much efforts into this feature and telling the story in such an amazing way: http://www.scribemedia.org/2007/06/21/weather-report-01/

Do you know MyC4? I'm quite curious about how they will succeed ...

With the aim of eradicating poverty through business, C4-World is setting up a global investment platform that allows individuals to invest directly in African businesses.

C4-World's 'MyC4' investors can expect to receive a return on their investment. The premise is to treat entrepreneurs in Africa as business partners, with return on investment being the most solid foundation for keeping the model moving forward. Another important difference is that MyC4 is focusing on knowledge as well as capital. The Danish start-up is building an online community to share knowledge and best practices from the global community to serve businesses in emerging markets, starting with the African continent.

They create a platform for virtual entrepreneurship, to transfer not just funds, but energy and knowledge, too. Harnessing the wisdom of the crowds and letting them put their money where their mouths are. Worth looking into or partnering with!

I have to share a success story of shapeshifters, because I found something here that I wouldn't have considered otherwise. Here's the story:

My cousin is sewing little animals out of fleece for a while, she started to do this for her kids and then one day we talked about selling those cute little animals on the internet. I set up a webpage, but nothing happened, because nobody knew the site and it was hard distributing it.
Then I read on shapeshifters about etsy.com, Helge posted it here http://www.shapeshifters.net/muesli/stories/240/
I took a look at it and seemed reasonable, so I just uploaded two or three items from the webpage there and within 4 hours they were all sold.
Within 2 months she has now sold 15 animals, making a total of about 120$ revenue. It's amazing, and she is very happy.

You'll find her work at http://fleecefrau.etsy.com

Thanks to shapeshifters for that inspiration, would've never happened otherwise.

I am looking for examples of and people who have experiences with Co-Innovation projects. Co- Innovation projects are (by my own definition): " Inter-organsiatonal innovation projects with the aim to make peoples life better (and of course to earn money ;-))."

I am in the middle of my MBA Business Design masterthesis project at the newly founded Zollverein school of management & design in Essen (Germany). Have a look at my introduction posting "MBA Business Design" for more information about the school itself.

Here some examples of what i mean by Co-innovation:

Philis + Sara Lee (Senseo coffee maker)
Apple + music industry (itunes)
Nike + Apple (Nike Shoe with ipod chip)
Audi + B&O (High-end sound system especially designed for the A8)

More to come on www.co-innovation.de

If you are interested in the subject please contact me for exchange.

Thanks,
