Artist in residence place in California
First of all the Shapeshifter meeting was lots of fun, lots of people.
And they all liked to drive up from L.A. to come and hang out at The Compound.
The Compound is a wonderful place, 1hour north of L.A. and it has a guesthouse :
The Guesthouse is a three (bed) room house, plus large living room with a large (work) table, 2 baths, kitchen et all. The set up is flexible.
In the workshop I have metal, woodworking, and painting materials. You can work on you electronics stuff or develop new interfaces etc. I can also make arrangements for a set up in the big studio. It can be used for sets, film or photo shoots. The ceilings are 5 meter high, no pillars. Floor space about 25 x 20 meter.
The Guest House @ The Compound is also a place to come and think, come to rest, listen to the owls and ravens who live in the tower right across the backdoor of the guest house.
It is a place to draw up new plans and ideas, write on your book or new play, or write finally that symphony …
If you are into it, it all can inspire you.
This place is connected with the earth, the birds, the honeybees...
And: at the end of the day there is always a glass of wine to share, or a fine meal to enjoy under a starry sky out back the big Studio.
