Phehello Mofokeng is my name. 26 year old spoken word poetry magazine owner and editor, assistant art director at a big advertising agency and a student award-winning designer of note. I will put some of my work on the net and the whole world can take a look. So if you are looking for a genuine yet trendy and up-to-date youthful african designs please feel free to send me a brief and then we can take things from there. I am happy to work from South Africa - in this age of technology, we all know that design studios and agencies are no longer bound to physical spaces.
Again, you can interact with me with regards to my magazine - a genuine post-apartheid youth magazine that is making its headway both underground and commercially. We are looking for international partners to work with and to expand our magazine.

You know here in Europe we mostly read in newspapers about the crime in Joburg. Since I have been there twice myself I keep on sharing my great personal experiences that made in your city and yes, I truly believe that Joburg is one of the most inspiring and promising places of the world. And you are definitely a part of this great city energy .
It is a pleasure to have people like you on this site.

Ok. It has been too long since i have interacted with the global shapeshifters.... OK Joburg is still the place to be - i have come to a full realisation that Joburg is one of the most wonderful cities in the world.I feel blessed to have left my humble home in the hinterland and start a new vibrant life up in Joburg. The difference is so stark and wonderful. I use my hometown as a retreat and Joburg as my ultimate drug and inspiration. OK, back to design and related professional matters. I have just completed relaunch invitation for a large client. The brief was simple - the invitation must be so well designed it should be a collectable art piece... I think we achieved that pretty well.
BKO Urban Culture Magazine is making headway. We are starting the website design as soon as we have time. The site will feature all the past collectable issues that we have ever released. You - the globe - will be able to download these and share in a piece of true and genuine South African history and urban culture evolution.
I was working for a huge advertising agency that i left after three months of hardworking, lots of intense experience and learning. I am happy to have had a taste of the ad world. now i know, i am not cut for it. but i had very valuable time at the agency and i have no regrets. except for one maybe, i wish they paid me enough to allow me to stick around for another 6 months to a year or so....
I am inspired by all the work that i see from 123Klan, newwebpick, hippnotic, liquid fridge, shapeshifters etc. the world is definetely getting smaller and we are getting closer to each other as technology advances. i wish i could reach out and say thank you to all these wonderful designers and pioneers.
for now, the slave drivers are calling....

Eric,
Thanks for your comment/response. Thanks for the advice/hint, i am new to this blogging/forum technology - but i am sure i shall survive.
There is the photo - to satisfy your curiosity....
Otherwise, the partners - i am looking for distribution partner(s) primarily. I am happy to accept exceptional content from people outside Mzansi (South Africa) provided it speaks about Mzansi (South African scenery of literature, tourism front, poetry, etc). the content must show interest/appreciation of stuff that is South African - even if you are from outside the country.
We are printing our first professional issue at the beginning of this month. i am looking for an underground (or commercial yet) niche market that is open minded about urban youth expression, race/religion/sex are immaterial. open-mindedness is key. we should be on-line as well, so maybe getting a couple of people interested in linking to our site and vice-versa...
ok. that is quite a mouthful. so for now, from a chilly and wintery Mzansi (South Africa), i am signing off. The slave drivers are calling. I am off
P (for peace).

Hi Phehello,
I just took a look on your new blog site. I must say that it is one of the
most aesthetic ones I have ever seen. I hope you will have a lot of postings and stories on it in the future. Also I hope that Shapeshifters can help you to achieve your vision. Can you tell me exactly what kind of partners you are loooking for? Is it rather distribution partners or partners that should provide content?
Here are some hints that might help you when using Shapeshifters in the future:
Try to post and comment when being "logged in". It makes it easier to contact you. Also, IŽd love to see your foto. I am really curious.
