UFOs and other PFTs (Pesky Flying Things)
Having written extensively about UFOs and related phenomena, it still amazes me how poorly-informed people are about the subject. Media turn to "experts" who seem mostly to be wingnuts, and debunkers point to these as a reason why the topic is not worth bothering with. In my 30 years of research on this subject, I have found many sane and well-educated individuals with reasonable approaches and insight into the UFO phenomenon. Yet debunkers sometimes state that anyone who studies the UFO phenomenon in any way is foolish. This paradox is quite fascinating, and I wonder why conservative science falls over itself to ridicule the subject and its proponents.
