Putting the band together

Here is the idea.

I’ve been in the consulting business since 2003, working in the following areas:
- Destination Consulting
- City Branding and Region Branding
- Cultural Planning
- Cultural Tourism
- Marketing for the Arts
- Creative Industries Consulting

I am currently based in Vienna, Austria and have gained my experience in London, New York, Barcelona and in the Ruhr Area in Germany. In addition to this I have a casual partner company network with collaborators in London, New York, Chicago, Barcelona, Salzburg, Berlin, Bristol, Hamburg, Turin and Los Angeles.

Now, starting to build my own consulting business, the idea is to construct it right from the start as an international network of partners.

Increasingly, the consulting business has become a world of associates and freelancers, and fixed employment is already the exception rather than the norm. The number of microbusinesses is increasing on a daily basis. This has to be accepted, and this is unlikely to change. But instead of joining the dog-eat-dog competition among microbusinesses, the vision is to establish an international network consultancy with ambitious, imaginative, and enthusiastic partners of a similar background who are positioned in key-markets.

This is, therefore, a serious case of matchmaking, of putting a band together. I do consider the following criteria essential:

- have at least four years of comparable consulting experience, part of which in a senior position
- have or want to start your own micro-business
- have your residence in a cultural metropolis
- have a considerable network of business partners
- share a rebel mentality and genuinely enjoy what they are doing

There is a range of advantages of participating in such an endeavor.

The whole thing is, however, still very much in the opening stages. There is not yet a business plan or the like. As a first step I want to invite potential likeminded partners to share their opinions about starting such an undertaking together.
