Hey there from Berlin again,

I am very happy to announce that an other cooperation between a Shapeshifters Member and BCN has be realised!

Egon Zipple http://www.shapeshifters.net/egonzippel/introduction with his beautiful
Loft in New York is the 4th location we are featuring.

This means I've found two of our four locations on Shapeshifters, and the fifth location is already in the making - also a collaboration between me and a Shapeshifters Member, on the next continent ... more about that in my next posting ;)

Our search for more interesting people and locations -worldwide - continues.
All the details are in my last posting here: http://www.shapeshifters.net/manu/stories/1358/
Looking forward to the next exciting person and location to come along :)
I just came across this fascinating agency in Berlin: http://www.schein-berlin.de
These guys create all sorts of fictional artefacts: e.g. packaging of products that never really existed, newspapers for film productions, fictional stamps and labels, everything. Amongst many other productions and projects I found out they had been working e.g. for "Bourne Supremacy". I like their work because it is such a special synthesis of Art and Graphic Design. Highly recommended. Unfortunately their website is only in German (yet).

“Dear Manu, come over for coffee here, the sun shines, it is beautiful. Have some chocolate … This is an official go ahead!“ (Cecile Bouchier, Mojave/CA) http://www.cecilebouchier.com

With these words the cooperation between two members of Shapeshifters was decided. It all started with a posting on Shapeshifters http://www.shapeshifters.net/manu/stories/1158/
by Manu Kumar. The initiator and founder of The Business Class. Net (BCN) - a network of Plug-&-Play working spaces for rent and a digital internet platform for freelancers and creative people as well as new nomads - was searching worldwide for new locations besides the headquarter in Berlin, Germany. When establishing new BCN-ports Manu Kumar always looks for special and unusual personalities as partners and prefers loctions in international cities or off the beaten track. The Mojave Desert has exited Manu Kumar: "This is exactly the place where BCN members can retreat, find new ideas and prepare projects. No 'civilization' to worry about! After personally meeting with Cecile in Berlin we have built up a friendship - the perfect foundation for success." The new BCN-port in the Mojave Desert opens on Halloween, October 31. http://www.TheBusinessClass.Net

Hey there from Berlin,

a few months ago – first of may / Labor Day – I opened the BCN-network. I didn’t had the chance to post it on Shapeshifters myself because PeterPanic was faster than me :)

http://www.shapeshifters.net/PeterPanic/stories/972/

Now we are looking for people to join our network by setting up new BCN-ports in their cities. I was wondering if you could help me to find such a person / location in your town. You will find everything in detail on the web page under IDEA and FAIRCHISE.

By creating the idea of FAIRCHISE vs. FRANCHISE we do not focus on connecting only the major capital cities of the „modern world“, but also on cities and regions that are not so wealthy -yet! The BCN-network only makes sense as an area-wide network including all different types of cities and regions.

Since last week THE BUSINESS CLASS. NET is pleased to welcome all members including spanish and italian languages! Furthermore we translate all news on the web page free of charges. From now on Your News will be posted in Italian, Spanish, English and German! (Spanish version of the FAIRCHISE text is still missing, it will be online in about two weeks)

http://www.thebusinessclass.net

I am happy for every feedback, ideas, connections...
and please share this idea with everyone you know.

It’s your business, anywhere.
Cheers Manu

Looking for a little architectural/design/photographic/artistic inspiration or interaction?

I recommend a visit to a pecha kucha night -- I had my first taste when one was held in Auckland recently and found a packed room of various creative worlds happily colliding, sharing and mixing.

The pre-arranged participants in pecha kucha were given the chance to tell the crowd about their design, new building, piece of furniture, photographs or thoughts they wished to share.

They did this with twenty images, and each image was shown for 20 seconds. People talked along with their slides, one guy played some music.

Presenters (and much of the audience) were from the design, architecture, photography, art and creative fields.

It was a fantastic way to see what was happening Auckland, and meet other creative people.

These events, orginally started in Tokyo by a British architect, are run around the world, and participation is encouraged by anyone who has something to show or say.

I'm sure there would be plenty of shapeshifters who would enjoy an outing to one of these!

Check out their international homepage : http://www.pecha-kucha.org/

I'm off to Berlin soon and have just found out that there is a music festival whilst I will be there - http://www.maerzmusik.de/. Has anyone been to this? It looks like contemporary classical but I am still waiting to receive a programme to find out the details.

I wondered whether someone might be able to point me in the direction of other interestings things to do and see whilst I'm there, such as which are the best flea markets to visit and interesting club nights - not in the dance/rave way but perhaps more nights that mix visuals, live music, cabaret - that sort of thing.

They recently designed the much noticed exhibition "Austria and its Jews" in the Jewish Museum in Vienna. Their service portfolio ranges from e.g. theater sets to christmas decoration for shopping arcades.
