Looking for a brilliant web designer

Nomad Soul Records is looking to collaborate with a web designer. We are interested in expanding the confines of what great web design can be. We seek an artist/designer. We'd like the Nomad Soul site to be slightly experimental, fresh, aspects of texture, and motion. The site would feel like a world unto itself. Of course it's primary function is to sell, but equal to this is building community. It could almost have the feel of promoting a film and using filmic cinematic qualities in the site itself. It could be edgy and inviting. Playing with ideas of mood, moving fonts, ghostlike shadows, mystery. All the while being very easy to navigate and intuitive. We are offering a set fee. Please contact us at: russelw@xtra.co.nz

hi russel,
I can recommend a few people to you, most are based on this side of the world. there is one particular site that i will send you the link to, but it is not yet online.
are you open to design from other parts of the world - they come highly recommended, or would you prefer a home grown designer?
yay, nice to see you on the site!!! ;)

Hi Tonia,

Thanks and yes, it doesn't matter where they live. It just matters how they think. Please send any and all recommendations. Look forward to seeing some inspiring
work. Thanks again...

I met neogine http://www.neogine.co.nz in Wellington and I really liked their work. Their branding and design is based on storytelling principles. If you ask me: Nomad Soul is a great story in itself and it deserves a design that conveys your story. Please say hello if you talk to them. I believe you would fit perfectly together. eric

Hi Russel, I am waiting for the details of a web designer here. His thought and interpretation of what the person wishes to communicate through his site is great. He is working with artists and I will send you a seperate email with a sneak preview of the work. His name is Wolfgang http://www.wolfknock.com/ - although there is no info on this site.

Closer to home I cannot go past recommending Nick Gleitzman, based on the fringes of sydney. He is a photographer cum web designer. as someone who has worked in both fields, he understands what the person wants - but more than that, he is able to communicate what he actually does, so the client can understand exactly the workings of the site (if you want to know), interperates what needs to be communicated and designs it. As soon as you speak to the guy, you will know what I mean. I TOTALLY recommend him, even if you find that the work on his site may not be exactly what you specifically ask for, I can honestly say he would be able to fill your requests and more! http://www.omnivision.com.au/

If you are still looking for someone, have a look at my site - www.freelancentral.co.za - we have over 1,000 talented freelancers who are picking up work from SA and international clients.

Good luck with the project.

My friend works for a great agency - http://www.gluelondon.com/. I'm not sure if they would be what you're looking for as they are an advertising agency but I thought it was worth pointing them out anyway.

I can recommend http://brinkmedia.com
they are an award winning and webby nominated company that designs flash integrated and database driven websites. They are US based and have many clients in the music film and entertainment world. Is the proposed site for one particular artist or for the company itself?

We're a couple of weird flash developers that hail from New York. Currently we're based in Scotland and Japan.

We both went to experimental film school in New York and are currently creating a nowhere based web and digital media business.

We can provide Flash sites that are Google Accessible here's a few links, though not like anyhting we would do you for you, these sites demonstrate our extremely flexible style.

and here is a link to an animation we have done for London/New York techno group MOTOR:

only a small sample but diverse. All these sites possess software that makes them act like text based sites where google and yahoo! are concerned.

all the best,

Gabriel
