There is a similar organisation in the UK however focusing on Inclusive design Helen Hamlyn Centre where there is a focus on Inclusive Design http://www.hhc.rca.ac.uk/index.html
There is also a fascinating programme happening in the North East of England driven by John Thackra called Dott07. Dott 07 (Designs of the time 2007) is a year of community projects, events and exhibitions based in North East England that explore what life in a sustainable region could be like – and how design can help us get there.
