I live in Vancouver, Canada with my fiancé (also a writer) and stepson. For several years now I've divided my time between writing creatively and working within the social profit sector. My first work of fiction (almost complete!) is a modern-day fable set in 18th century France.The story deals with themes of science versus superstition, the wisdom of the body versus the "medical gaze" (see Foucault's Birth of the Clinic), feminism, magic and possibility. Another ongoing project is a work of non-fiction that touches on the areas of memoir, and using storytelling as a way to attain self-knowledge and life balance.
As a writer and content strategist, I manage a social marketing consultancy called Snap Promotions (www.snapromotions.com) that assists not-for-profits by honing in on the value they bring to their communities through the collaborative development of strategic planning exercises, re-crafting mission/value statements, and branding identity. Through this work I help organizations increase visibility and communicate their message clearly and with a fresh perspective.
I translate from French to English, have published literary translations and desire to do more translation of contemporary plays and works of fiction.
