Lead Researcher
Sanjay Khanna
Sanjay joined Shapeshifters in 2008 as Lead Researcher of the Global Reality Check product. Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, his worldview has been shaped by the coming together of the East Asian, Southeast Asian, South Asian, European, and Indigenous cultures on Canada's West Coast.
Sanjay graduated with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing (Creative Non-Fiction) from the University of British Columbia. In the early 1990s, he began his career as a freelancer writer covering business, technology, and social trends for Silicon Valley organizations such as Hewlett-Packard and Xerox's Palo Alto Research Center. More recently, he has contributed human-centered futures insight to the Nokia Ventures Organization in Helsinki, Finland, and to Yamaha Motor Corporation's New Business Creation organization in Cypress Hills, California.
As a foresight writer and thinker, Sanjay is moved by the ancient idea that healthy thought can contribute to social innovation and create widespread tangible and intangible benefits. As part of Shapeshifters, Sanjay seeks to help conscious creatives, including investors and entrepreneurs, explore innovative business concepts, products, and services that support human life - and uplift the human spirit - during this time of global change.
