Eric Poettschacher

Eric founded Shapeshifters in 2006 together with Beate Becker, a Boston-based business angel and Creative Economy expert. Since then he has been travelling the world to seed www.shapeshifters.net—a new type of knowledge management agency fostering creativity on a global scale.

Eric was born in Austria, and now spends most of his time connecting different worlds that usually exist in parallel universes on this planet. With a degree in aeronautical engineering and a career that began at Lufthansa's global operations center, Eric soon discovered that the most enriching journeys always take off in the human mind first. As a consequence he shifted his focus to the the arts and humanities, graduated from the International Centre for Culture and Management in Salzburg and later started his own consultancy. Based on his professional background in organizational systems theory and ongoing action research with creatives and multinational corporations, he eventually developed a management language called Mindscapes—tailored to the specific needs of entrepreneurs in the creative economy.

Eric has an undying passion for free thinking, pattern recognition and small businesses that operate off the beaten path. He is the executive producer of the upcoming TV documentary Business Outlaws featuring successful entrepreneurs from different cultures who shape business realities beyond the world of work as we know it.
