Ghana - music contacts wanted

I will be travelling to Ghana / Accra by the end of next week (feb 17th), basically to get an impression of the local music scene and -industry and dive a little bit into cultural life. I'm mostly looking for contacts and inputs in music business that might be interesting and useful for my first african (nigerian) music project as an executive producer.

I'd be happy about any idea on music labels, producers, promotors, bands, artists festivals, clubs, concerts, etc. in Accra or elsewhere in Ghana for the first step, and in any other african country for the next step .....

Hi Bab, I just returned from Ghana last week myself, a wonderful country. Haven't got any music industry contacts there but I would try to get in touch with the folks at http://www.ghanathink.org , they can probably put you in touch with further contacts. very friendly people. Helge

hi barbara,
i think you should contact julian jonker. he is based in cape town, but his personal african-musician-network reaches far to the middle of afrika and you'll surprised which resources he can offer you. not just contacts but also access to databases etc.
just write me an email for his contact!

Below are some facts i will like you to observe:
Right now i have got some albums to display, like 3 albums, each album with six tracks each.

-Talking about statistics: i fell among the top 20 best hip hop and r'n'b pieces.

-I was also among the best 5 artists awarded the african youth progressive unity award.

-Also i have been at many shows and concerts, displaying on stage and featuring many prominent musicians as well.

The above are some of my vast achievements.

But right now, i am pestered by the need of being signed into a recording company, that can go a long way to upgrade and improve my career to a great extent. I will be most delighted if this request is granted me or at least give me an avenue to arrest this need.

I remain grateful to you for your fervent efforts in helping me.
