Looking for freelance web developers

I often need to use freelance web developers but I haven't yet found any that fulfill all my requirements enough to forge a good relationship.

I'm looking for someone who is :
1. Pro-active (in their own projects and also helping our business)
2. Not only excellent with the basics, but stays up to date with current technologies
3. Flexible
4. Preferably in London (however, I don't mind where they are if they are super easy to work with elsewhere.)
5. Experienced
7. Not charging exorbitant rates
8. Creative in finding solutions.

PLease let me know if you know of anyone who could perhaps fit these criteria.

Hi Rory,
I could suggest a guy in Vienna that would be worth talking to. Daniel Mores at http://www.untitled.at The site is in German but the team does speak perfect English (designed an old website of mine a couple of years ago and I can highliy recommend Daniel). Check out the site, see how you feel and go from there. mores@untitled.at
The team there does much more than just web development.
See you! Good luck!!

Rory,
also I would recommend to take a look at "webdesign"
in the "most popular tags today section".
Just in case you have not done it already.

Dear Rory,
I have worked with Intergraphic Designs in Costa Rica in the past and they are amazing! Plus you can get much better prices than in the US or the UK. I know they have done major work for the bank industry in Costa Rica (which says a lot about them) . If you also need to combine the development of the site with internet marketing, I recommend http://www.merkados.us.

Alex,

thanks for this information. It is great to hear about good web/design companies from
Costa Rica. You know, it should be an introduction on the Shapeshifters site itself.
And you could do that (as you have obviously experienced them) - let me know your email address, I would love to send you an invitation to Shapeshifters.
Best
Susan
