D.I.Y. VIENNA 2007

D.I.Y. VIENNA 2007 is vienna's first do-it-yourself festival featuring artists and designers from different creative backgrounds in and around vienna. our focus is to give them the opportunity to show and sell their self-produced goods to a broader audience and to exchange ideas among each other. we aim to include exhibitors from a wide variety of backgrounds including but not limiting to art, design, fashion, music, food and anything else you can imagine.

we let you know well in advance when and where the festival will take place.

Hi Anna, Nicole and Steve,

congratulations to this idea. I love it, because you and all the other involved people create reality by doing it yourself. Not waiting for somebody else maybe doing something in some time....
By the way, if you need any benchmark or people with whom you want to exchange experiences in self organising design markets/festivals: I can recommend two great women from Barcelona, whom I met earlier this year - look at the posting http://www.shapeshifters.net/susi/stories/192/ - there you find a short description and the link.

as those who have read my postings already know i'm a big fan of knowledge-sharing over the internet, of "open-sourcing" ideas.

as it happens there is a platform sharing DIY instructions: http://www.instructables.com it would be great if your event wasn't just limited in time and space but would try to document DIY outcome for eternity.

hi Anna,
In 2002/3 there was an event called 'art to life' in Vienna. This was a market for designers, craft and art. I met some great youg designers that I am sure would be interested in DIY. I will be happy to help you spread the word about DIY.
